What if your arthritis could drastically improve or even reverse in just 120 days?
What if your RA, and pain is due to how close you live to your local highway.
What if you could decrease your joint pain by up to 90% by just eating one simple food.
What if you could take away arthritic pain by smacking your joint with a certain plant!
We’re going to see the answers to these questions and much more in this video below and article.
There are two kinds of arthritis. The first is an injury leads to inflammation like Osteoarthritis. The second is an inflammation leads to injury such as with autoimmune conditions. We’re going to focus on the second category and on mostly on Rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
What’s the typical treatment for arthritis and RA? Drugs. Typically NSAIDs, (non setor steroids. These drugs have some major liabilities. Here are some recent statistics about NSAID drugs.
“NSAID-related ulcer complications are estimated to lead to 107,000 hospitalizations and 16,500 deaths yearly in the United States.” 1
Additionally corruption has been found in 196 studies that were used to prove the efficacy of NSAID’s for RA.2
Work with nature not against it.
There are two parts to reversing arthritis, and joint pain.
Of these two the most important is the diet. We will deal with diet in part 2 which is the next article.
We’ll start with five natural remedies that are proven help rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, and even gout. Many studies have proven this:
“Ingestion of dietary supplements of n−3 fatty acids has been consistently shown to reduce both the number of tender joints on physical examination and the amount of morning stiffness in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.”3
“We examined the clinical status of patients after they had stopped receiving diclofenac but continued to receive fish oil or corn oil…The improvement in the number of tender joints was significant…We observed a significant decrease in interleukin 1,” 4
They did BETTER on Omega-3 oils than on their meds!
EPA found in Omega 3 fatty acids inhibits the production of chemicals that promote inflammation in the body. Specifically it inhibits the chemicals that are involved in the pain of rheumatoid arthritis. Here’s a list of the inflammatory compounds it inhibits.
Most of the studies involve the use of fish oil, but I recommend against that.
Why? For the following reasons.
Also studies found that fish oil isn’t necessary:
“Improvements in the number of tender joints and in morning stiffness were confirmed in a meta-analysis of published studies that used a wide range of daily dietary supplementation with n−3 fatty acids.” 6
Just about any Omeg-3 will do! Notice also about the performance of fish oil.
“It is accurate to portray the overall clinical response to fish-oil supplements in these investigations as modest .” 7
What that’s saying is fish oil was so so. But notice this.
“Patients receiving corn oil tended to have fewer swollen joints during this time interval than at baseline.” 8
Corn oil did better than fish oil! The plant source performed better.
This study shows that flax seed oil also will reduce the joint pain.
“rheumatoid arthritis patients have shown ≤90% inhibition of cytokine production after dietary supplementation with fish oil. Use of flaxseed oil in domestic food preparation also reduced production of these cytokines.”9
“it appears that dietary supplements containing 3–6 g n−3 fatty acids are sufficient.” 10
There are 3g of Omgea 3’s in 2 Tb of ground flax seed.
Also 1Tb flax seed oil has 7 g of Omega 3’s!
Chia is another great plant source of Omega 3’s. One ounce (about 2 Tb) is about 5 grams of omega-3 fatty acids. You can grind it and mix it into smoothies and hot gluten-free cereals in the morning. After grinding don’t expose it to light since it will oxidize and loose it’s effect.
Two other good plant sources of Omega 3s are:
Some other plant sources are:
“clinical benefits of the n−3 fatty acids were not apparent until they were consumed for ≥12 wk [84 days].” 11
Remember I said you could reverse arthritis in 120 days? Here’s a study showing the patients started seeing results at 84 days which led to “significant” reductions in their symptoms.
What is it? It’s the application of hot and cold water to injured and inflamed areas. Many don’t realize the tremendous healing power in the manipulation of the blood by simple hot and cold applications.
For a demonstration of how to do this simply click here and watch me do it at about minute 5:35.
Castor oil is mostly made of something called ricinoleic acid. It has very small molecules that penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin as well as into the lymphatic tissues.
It will literally penetrate and dissolve bone spurs, kidney and gallbladder stones that are under the surface of the skin.
It’s been in used for over 3,500 years! There is an ancient Egyptian texts that describe Egyptian doctors using it.
It has been proven to dissolve gall bladder stones. 12
It’s dissolving properties also work with:
Here are some of it’s benefits:
For a clear demonstration on how to use Castor Oil click here to watch the video at the top of this post that shows me applying it . Castor oil is used at minute 10:00.
There are two potential schedules one could use.
The effect can often improved by applying heat on top of the castor oil poultice, but be careful with heat if inflammation is very bad. Cayenne pepper can be applied on top of the castor oil in the poultice to help produce the heat.
Stinging nettle is a plant with stingers that contain high levels of leukotrienes and histamine. These compounds in the plant can sometimes bring relief and reduce swelling in minutes.
A 1998 study looking at the benefit of nettle leaf extract in nearly 9000 patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis founds some incredible results such as 82% of the patients reporting that their symptoms were relieved.
Here’s what the study itself stated:
“After a three week period 82% of patients believed that the treatment had relieved their symptoms, 26% no longer required to take anti-inflammatory drugs and 38% said that they were willing to reduce their drug therapy.” 13
Multiple studies have shown that stinging nettle reduces inflammatory compounds in the body. 14
Varieties of stinging nettle can be found world wide from deserts to mountains. You typically will find it by rivers, lakes or streams in regions that get lots of sunlight. You can look online to see if it grows in your area.
In order to get the effect it needs to be fresh. Once you’ve located it, get some plastic gloves and scissors then cut yourself a piece. Hit the inflamed part of your body with the plant several times. You should feel the stinging immediately.
The cost is that it will sting for several hours and continue mildly for up to a few days, however the payoff is that it can reduce inflammation almost immediately. Once the stinging wears off it’s anti-inflammatory effects can last many more days.
For a demonstration of how to do this watch the video above. Minute 15:30 is when I use the stinging nettle.
Fresh ginger is one of the best anti inflammatory herbs and is even equivalent to turmeric. Fresh ginger pulls inflammation out of joints and into the poultice through the skin.
Some actually report feeling the heat going from the joint to the skin.
Because of it’s healing properties ginger can help inflammation in joint areas, any arthritis, back pains, and even gout.
1. Grate the ginger on the fine setting of the grater.
2. Wrap it up in a cloth. Make sure on side of the cloth has only one layer of cloth over the ginger.
3. Place it on the inflamed area.
4. Use an ace bandage or but old T-shirt material to wrap it with. Not to tight, or not to loose.
5. We like to ask God to bless our treatments since we know He is the one who created these properties and that all healing power comes from Him. I invite you do to the same.
6. Keep it on overnight or at least for several hours.
The skin can get very hot. If this is the case handle it as long as you can. It will never actually burn the skin.
The heat will typically go in waves, and some with arthritis say it feels good. The heat is an indication that there was a lot of inflammation in the area.
Applying a hot water bottle on top of the poultice can help relax muscles. If you can’t deal with the heat the additional heat is not absolutely necessary and you can remove it.
For a demonstration of how to do this watch the video above. Minute 17:13 is when I use the ginger poultice.
The Diet
All the remedies in the world are going to fall short if you are still eating a diet that is perpetuating the problem.
The second part to successfully addressing Rheumatoid arthritis and any other inflammatory pain condition is eating the right diet.
